A Corby company which specialises in the utility and financial services sector is to train 10 apprentices ahead of National Apprenticeship Week.
Utility Bidder is working with Tresham College to recruit students with the correct attitude and skills to train up for positions at the company.
Nine of the roles will be in customer service and one apprentice will be working in IT, with the aim to start two or three apprentices at the company each quarter.
Utility Bidder hopes to be able to offer all the apprentices permanent employment once they have completed their training year.
The apprenticeship programme is part of the company’s ongoing expansion plans after it moved from Market Harborough to Corby in 2015 to find larger premises.
Now settled at Pearson Academy, the company is hoping to double the number of staff it employs (currently 52) over the next 18 months.
Utility Bidder manager director James Longley said: “These are really exciting times at the company.
“Due to the popularity of our services, the growth that we have experienced has been phenomenal.
“This means that we have been able to recruit for full time roles in a range of departments including sales, lead generation and finance.
“We also feel it is important to help improve youth employment rates and give young people a good start in their career, so we are delighted to be welcoming some apprentices to the team over the next 12 months.”
Tresham College, which has campuses in Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough, works with more than 500 employers to match business needs and find suitable students to fill their apprenticeship vacancies through a fully supported recruitment and selection process.
Tresham vice-principal for business development and customer services David Higham said: “We are very pleased to be developing lasting partnerships with local businesses such as Utility Bidder to support apprenticeships in the county.
“By employing apprentices, Utility Bidder is investing in the next generation of their workforce and will be able to benefit from a fresh approach and the new ideas of their apprentices.”
