A Corby child sex offender has been jailed for nine years.
George Jenkins, 58, of Stephenson Way, Corby, was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on Thursday, October 24, after being found guilty of historic child sex abuse.
Jenkins was handed a nine year sentence after police carried out a two-year investigation.
Detective Constable Kirstie Brooks, who led the inquiry, said: “I am very pleased with yesterday’s sentencing. Justice has now been done. This man is a predatory child sex offender who has showed no remorse for his actions.
“The sentencing comes at the end of a long and difficult investigation and I’d like to acknowledge the bravery of the victims for their support throughout. They now have closure and can start to piece their lives back together.
“The investigation of any child sexual abuse case is a difficult job but, for the victims, the effects stay with them for a lifetime. That is why it is imperative that everyone understands they have a responsibility to report any fears or concerns they have about child abuse to the police.
“We work closely with partner agencies to investigate all allegations of child sexual abuse; the only people more relentless than sex offenders are those that investigate them.”
