Corby’s 2014 carnival court was selected and crowned at an event in the Grampian Club, in the town, attended by 300 people.

Entrants from all the wards in the borough and the surrounding villages took part in the competition to find out who will be performing regal duties at this year’s carnival on July 12, as well as representing the town at other events around the country.

Amber Howard, Miss Hazel Leys, 15, a student at Corby Business Academy, was chosen to be the carnival queen, supported by senior princess Lana Perry, 15, Miss Weldon, junior carnival queen, Nakita Ritchie, 12, the Oakley Vale princess, and junior princess Angel Cowan, 11, the Exeter estate princess.

The new carnival court has decided to support local charity Macy’s Memory this year.
