Organisers of the Corby Open 2013 art exhibition have extended the event.

The exhibition at the Rooftop Gallery, in the former library above Queens Square, was to have closed at the end of November but will now run until January 16, next year.

The decision to extend the art show was taken due to the high level of interest in the exhibition which features the work of a host of Corby artists.

Paula Boulton, one of the founders of the gallery, said: “This is only the second Corby Open show we have held and we are delighted with the attendance figures.

“It can take a long time to establish an event like this.”

One of the features of this year’s show was a workshop with 13 of the contributing artists, giving visitors the opportunity to discuss exhibits with painters and sculptors.

Paula said: “The workshop was a great success. People were able to find out more about the artists’ work and what inspires them.”

If you would like to visit the Corby Open exhibition, which received funding from Arts Council England, visit the gallery from 11am until 4pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
