Corby and Wellingborough men arrested following drugs search

Two men have been arrested in Corby after being found to be in possession of what is believed to be Class A drugs.

Police conducted a patrol of the Exeter Estate in Corby on Tuesday, after local people told them of their concerns about suspicious activity in the area.

During the course of the patrol officers spotted two men acting suspiciously and stopped and searched them.

Both men, a 23-year-old from Wellingborough and a 24-year-old from Corby, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug.

As a result of their arrests two properties, one in Corby and one in Wellingborough, were searched.

Both men have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A police spokesman said: “We rely on people telling us about what concerns them where they live, and would always encourage people to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, if they are concerned with any suspicious activity.”
