Conservative win in Raunds by-election

Raunds Town Council has a new member to represent the Saxon ward.

Bill Tirebuck was elected following his win in the by-election which took place on Thursday.

The Conservative candidate secured 586 votes (77.2 per cent) compared to Labour candidate Eddie Hookway, who received 173 votes (22.8 per cent).

With 759 votes cast in total, the turn-out for the by-election was 21 per cent.
