A COUNCIL is investigating complaints made about noise at a two-day charity concert held in Rushden over the weekend.

East Northamptonshire Council says its environmental protection and licensing officers are investigating after receiving a number of reports about the event held at Rushden Rangers Football Club’s ground, off Hayden Road.

People living in nearby streets contacted the council over the weekend to complain about the noise.

Complaints were also made to the council on Monday, after the event had finished.

The football ground is in a suburban area of the town, close to Hayden Road, Short Stocks, Blinco Road, Birch Road, Sycamore and Nippendale.

A spokesman for East Northamptonshire Council said: “We received a number of complaints regarding the two-day charity event held at Rushden Rangers Football ground this weekend.

“Calls were received through our out-of-hours service over the weekend and on Monday following the event.

“An officer attended on Saturday evening and provided advice to the premises and further work is ongoing with the premises by licensing and environmental protection officers.”
