The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance is being promoted across the country’s roads on a specially branded lorry trailer.
The new air ambulance trailer is designed to promote its vital medical services across the motorway network.
Whitworths, an Irthlingborough-based leading supplier of home baking, cooking and healthy snacking products, and its logistics provider CEVA Logistics have provided the trailer to help promote the air ambulance, which is Whitworths’ chosen charity for the year.
In a fundraising initiative, the brightly coloured design asks passers-by to donate £3 by texting ‘FLY’ to 70777.
Tracey Grunwell, head of fundraising for the life-saving charity, said: “The support that we receive will make a huge difference, not just to the air ambulance, but to the lives of the people we save.”
Peter Utting, CEO at Whitworths, said: “The air ambulance plays a significant role in the community and we’re delighted to help raise the profile of its work and raise much needed funds to support this vital service.”
Whitworths adopted the air ambulance as its charity of the year in September 2012 and has held fundraising events to raise cash.
It receives no Government or lottery funding.
It is supported by fundraising initiatives, sponsorship and corporate donations.
