A commuter from Kettering railway station has warned motorists to not rely on the station’s CCTV.

Wayne McBean, of Old, was told none of the cameras in the car park were able to read the number plate of the car which crashed into his vehicle, despite him parking it in full view of one.

Mr McBean said while he accepts East Midlands Trains is not liable, he was frustrated that the firm was unable to help.

His car was hit in January, causing £2,500 worth of damage.

East Midlands Trains said: “While it is unfortunate that the CCTV has not been able to provide any clarity, we are confident that the CCTV at Kettering is positioned correctly and the cameras are in working order.”
