Julie Rogers, who took part in the London 2012 Paralympic Games in the sitting volleyball event, gave a short talk about her experiences during the games, when she was aged 13.

The teenager is now studying for her A-levels and was originally taught in reception class by Jo Chapman, who led the project for the new multi-games area and is also a teacher at Great Doddington Primary School.

Jo said: “The Opening Ceremony was an amazing event for the whole school nad the children really enjoyed it.

“Seeing all of our sporting achievements highlighted made me realise how much we have achieved over the last few years.

“I think the children were incredibly lucky to hear Julie’s story and I am sure she has inspired them to work hard.”
