A college will have a recruitment agency in each of its three county campuses in a bid to get its students into work.

Tresham College is finalising a deal with Reed Employment to put in place recruitment agencies in its Kettering, Wellingborough and Corby campuses from January next year.

This will see a special service at each of the campuses for students to go to to find job opportunities or work experience while studying.

Principal Stuart Wesselby said: “It’s going to cost a lot but it’s something that we should be doing for our students.

“We need to give them as much help as possible, espcially in the current economic climate. It’s a case of not just setting them free and giving them that help.

“Everyone at the college is very excited about the agency work starting.”

The agencies are set to be up and running by January, and the employment firm is hoping that it will secure jobs for 2,000 students in the north of the county.

Pupils will also be able to go to the agency, which is likely to be open during college hours, to brush up on interview skills.
