Window cleaner Chris Storey is in training to take part in the Amsterdam Marathon to raise funds for charity.

Chris, 32, of Bluebell Close on the Oakley Vale estate, Corby, will be taking part in the event in October in aid of the National Autistic Society’s Asperger’s syndrome group.

Mr Storey, who was recently diagnosed with the condition, said: “I’m aiming to raise £1,000 for the charity. I am being sponsored by Corby swimming pool and my friends but would be really grateful for more support.”

Mr Storey, who is married to Dory, 37, and has a two-year-old son Alex, trains most days.

He is also taking part in the Corby Triathlon in June and swims, cycles and runs to keep in top condition.

He said: “Having Asperger’s means I have a lot of energy and taking part in fundraising challenges allows me to channel it in a really positive way.”

Mr Storey is also planning to take part in a relay swim across the English Channel.
