Entries have opened for this year’s Sing for Cransley Hospice competition, which will see amateur choirs perform in a bid to raise more than £5,000 for the charity.
All local companies and organisations are invited to take part by forming new “scratch choirs” of up to 15 people who can commit to rehearsals and the big night itself on October 10.
While all participants will receive a certificate of thanks after the event, medals will be awarded to the choirs voted The Judges’ Winner and Audience Winner.
There is space in the competition for six choirs, and they may choose their own names, songs and rehearsal schedules and venues, provided they are agreed by their assigned teachers.
No experience is necessary, and there will be an introductory meeting arranged once all six choirs have been registered, including guests who took part in the successful event last year, which was won by the choir from T James Electrical.
A Just Giving page will be set up nearer the time to allow choirs taking part to start raising funds and beat the 2014 total of £5,000 for Cransley Hospice.
