CHILDREN with special needs were encouraged to try something new at a school’s Have a Go Day.
The event at Oundle School has been running for 27 years and is a firm favourite in the special needs club and school’s calendar.
About 100 members of PHAB and Gateway clubs and children from special needs schools visited Oundle and enjoyed activities including swimming, archery and face painting, despite the wet weather.
Nick Turnbull, head of community action at the school, said: “It is lovely to see the faces of our guests light up at the prospect of sampling activities which many people take for granted.
“Their presence is like a breath of fresh air and our pupils are privileged to host them.”
More than 150 pupils from Oundle School helped their visitors try other sports including badminton, basketball, football and rounders.
