Disadvantaged children in the county have been given the chance to enjoy the festive fun of the panto.
The youngsters were given the opportunity to watch Snow White at Kettering’s Lighthouse Theatre thanks to an initiative organised by the Telegraph and the Lighthouse Theatre.
More than 150 tickets were handed out by Jeanette Walsh, from Northamptonshire County Council’s leaving care team, to underprivileged children who would not otherwise have had the chance to go.
They attended a performance of Snow White, starring astrologer Russell Grant, on Friday, December 13, and many parents and guardians have written to thank organisers for arranging the evening’s entertainment.
Among the feedback received by Jeanette Walsh was one which said: “Thank you so very much for the pantomime tickets.
“The children really enjoyed it and it is an opportunity they would not have had, had it not been for your kindness.”
Another added: “My children are four and six years old and were mesmerised throughout the performance.
“Thank you very much for a thoroughly enjoyable evening out.
A third said: “For my youngest this was his first experience of a pantomime and just to be able to see his face light up and hear him and my other children join in with the cheering was absolutely wonderful.”
