A Desborough woman who beat breast cancer and was selected to front a new campaign for national charity Breast Cancer Now is organising a charity ball.

Natasha Goodman was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, when she was aged just 31.

Her gruelling treatment lasted for 18 months and included a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and Herceptin.

Now she is organising a breast cancer charity ball on October 22 at The Ritz in Desborough which will host 240 guests. All proceeds will go to Breast Cancer Now – the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, created by the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Chosen to represent the charity in the county, Natasha has already sold 60 tickets in two weeks.

She said: “I will have been clear of breast cancer for five years this month so this is a cause really close to my heart.

“I also have friends in their 30s who have been diagnosed with breast cancer so it is something that has affected people close to me.

“It should be a fantastic evening raising money for a great cause.”

The black tie and ball gown evening will run from 7pm to 1am and features a three course meal, casino tables and live entertainment. Tickets cost £45 and can be bought by contacting 07540 473303 or natasha_c_m@hotmail.co.uk.
