Geddington and Weekley’s newly installed parish priest has had his head shaved for charity as part of an Easter Monday day of activities at the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Weekley.

The Rev Rob Parker-McGee was raising money for Cancer Research. He said: “Many of us have felt the awful consequences of cancer, one way or another, and so the Church will always offer its support to those organisations looking to support people affected by this terrible disease.”

The Easter egg hunt and afternoon tea, part of a commitment by the churches in Geddington and Weekley to embrace its communities, raised a total of £250 on the day for church funds and £460 for Cancer Research.
