Changes to bin collections in the north of the county over Christmas have been published.

In East Northamptonshire some collections will be made earlier than the usual day and some later.

People whose bins are normally emptied on Monday, December 21, will have them collected on Saturday, December 19, instead.

Bins which are normally collected on Tuesday, December 22, through to Friday, December 25, will have them emptied a day earlier.

Collections remain the same as usual for the week beginning Monday, December 28, apart from Friday, January 1, which will be collected on Saturday, January 2.

Due to a fire which destroyed the council’s collection vehicle fleet earlier this year, food waste is usually collected separately from the refuse/recycling bin.

This may be considerably earlier or later than when residents’ wheeled bins are emptied.

Missed collections must be reported by 3pm on your normal collection day.

In Kettering this year refuse collection workers won’t be working Christmas Day or New Year’s Day so residents will only be affected if their refuse or recycling is collected on a Friday.

These changes will affect some streets in Barton Seagrave, Geddington, Newton, Desborough, Kettering and Rothwell. In most cases bins will be emptied the day before or the following Monday.

There will be a number of changes to Wellingborough Council’s refuse collections over the Christmas period.

Due to the way Christmas falls this year, most bin collection days have been brought forward.

This begins on Tuesday, December 22, when bins which are normally collected on Wednesday, December 23, will be emptied.

Collections scheduled for Thursday, December 24, and Friday, December 25, will take place a day earlier.

For the following week, collections scheduled for Wednesday, December 30, Thursday, December 31, and Friday, January 1, will all take place a day earlier.
