Netball sessions are being held for women and girls who haven’t played the sport for years and those who would like to learn the game.

They take place at Brooke Weston Academy, Corby, from 7pm to 8pm every Wednesday.

The first Abacas session is free and after that it costs £2.50 a week to take part. Anyone over 14 is welcome to go along.

The session were started by Kelly Walker, helped by Debbie Edwards, Kay Stobbart and Denise Devlin. who all play in Corby Netball League.

Debbie said: “The aim is to provide something for people who haven’t played for years, or for those who have never played netball. The sessions are going very well and already some people have joined teams in the league.

“Anyone is welcome to come along and there is no upper age limit. We have players in their sixties.”

In June an Abacas summer netball league will start at West Glebe Park in Corby.
