Family and friends gathered to celebrate a Kettering man’s 100th birthday at the end of last month.
Victor Patrick, a resident at the Shaw care home run by Thorndale in Kettering, has lived in Northamptonshire all of his life.
His daughter Audrey said: “Dad was a printer and always worked hard. In his later years he lived in Barton Seagrave before coming into care. He really struggles to hear now but we communicate by using a note pad. He’s a happy person, who always looks on the bright side.”
Staff at the home arranged a party for Victor, which more than 45 people attended.
Among the guests was Cllr Suresh Patel from Northamptonshire County Council, who was attending his first engagement in his new role of cabinet member for adult social care.
On opening his card from Buckingham Palace, Victor said: “Well, fancy that!”
