The county’s police and crime commissioner (PCC) has secured £180,000 to go towards projects supporting victims of crime.

The Ministry of Justice offered PCCs the chance to bid for part of £12.5m to support victims of the most serious crimes, persistently targeted victims and intimidated or vulnerable victims.

A spokesman for the PCC said: “We welcome the funding from the Ministry of Justice to support our work with victims and witnesses. From October the police and crime commissioner will be responsible for commissioning a victim and witness service for Northamptonshire and this money will contribute to the development of the service.”
