Two legends from the world of motorsport are revving up support for a Corby charity.
As part of their Foggy and Whit: Givin’ It Gas UK chat show tour, which comes to The Core theatre this month, four-times World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty and his friend and former British champion James Whitham will raise funds for Lakelands Hospice.
The event will feature a charity raffle with a top prize of a flight in James’ private plane.
There will also be an opportunity to win tickets for a round of the World Superbike Championships, as well as signed merchandise.
Carl, who will be appearing at The Core on Wednesday, said: “We try to support a different local charity on every leg of the tour.
“The people at Lakelands Hospice do some amazing work and we couldn’t think of a better cause to get involved with.
“Our aim is to raise as much money as we possibly can through the charity raffle and hopefully highlight the charity’s good deeds in the process.
“Whit and I are really looking forward to coming to Corby as part of our 2014 tour.
“We haven’t taken the show to this part of the world before so I hope people are ready for some banter.”
Paul Marlow, fundraising manager at the hospice in Butland Road, said: “We’re really pleased that Carl and James have chosen to support us.
“We hope the night is a real success and obviously the more people who support the raffle, the better.”
Carl and James’ on-stage chat and questions will last around two hours, followed by the charity prize draw and a chance for fans to get autographs.
Tickets for the show are £20 and more information is available at www.foggyandwhit.co.uk or by telephoning 01536 470470.
