The annual Kids of Steel Triathlon takes place in Corby next week.

Youngsters in schools across the borough are preparing to take on the triathlon challenge on Wednesday, May 20.

The event will start with a dive into the Corby East Midlands International Pool, then a run across the car park to collect contestants’ bikes and will finish with a cycling dash down Westcott Way to complete the journey.

Due to the event, which takes place throughout the course of the day, there will be no access to the Corby Cube/Corby East Midlands International Pool car park between 8am and 4pm.

No vehicles will be able to enter or exit during this time.

Mayor of Corby Anthony Dady said: “Every year the young competitors involved have a fantastic day and we look forward to again cheering them on as they tackle each stage of the triathlon.

“Thank you to everyone who helps to make it an enjoyable and safe event and we wish the 2015 Kids of Steel the very best of luck.”
