Young cadets have been helping detectives investigating the murder of Karoly Varga by distributing hundreds of leaflets in Wellingborough.
The volunteer cadets, together with the local safer community team, distributed leaflets and put up posters in the community in various languages to encourage any potential witnesses to come forward.
Officers are continuing to appeal to the public for any information that may assist the investigation and help bring closure to the family of Karoly Varga, known as Charlie, who was murdered in his home in Cannon Street, Wellingborough, last year.
The leaflets and posters ask people:
• Have you seen or found an axe-type weapon in the past year?
• Do you know where a pair of Lonsdale trainers have been dumped or hidden?
• Have you stored them unaware of their significance? Please check your garden and outbuildings for these items.
• Did you know Karoly “Charlie” Varga? Do you have any information that might assist bringing his killer to justice?
A £10,000 reward for information leading to the successful arrest and conviction of the killer remains available.
Anyone with information that may assist the investigation should call the incident room on 101 or pass information confidentially through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
