Four candidates in the Corby and East Northants by-election are to take part in a debate to be chaired by author and political correspondent for Channel 4 News, Michael Crick.

It will take place on Sunday, November 4, at 7.30pm, in Oundle School’s Great Hall.

Christine Emmett (Conservative), Jill Hope (Liberal Democrats), Andy Sawford (Labour Co-operative) and Margot Parker (UK Independence Party) will each be given the opportunity to give a two-minute statement, followed by questions and a one-minute summary.

The debate is open to the public.

The by-election was called following the resignation in August of sitting Conservative MP Louise Mensch.

Mrs Mensch, who won the seat at the 2010 general election, announced she was standing down for family reasons.

The by-election will be on Thursday, November 15, to tie in with the police and crime commissioner elections.
