Busy few weeks for Wellingborough Sea Cadets

SEA Cadets from Wellingborough achieved success in two events in the last four weeks.

The Northampton and Wellingborough Sea Cadets marched to success in the National drill and piping competition held at HMS Raleigh and splashed forward in the district rowing regatta, which was held at Wicksteed Park, Kettering.

At the first event, which took place on the weekend of April 28, 16 cadets from Northampton and Wellingborough Sea Cadet unit went along.

The piping team achieved fifth place overall and POC Joseph Barley achieved sixth place in the individual competition.

The armed guard achieved third place and received bronze medals.

A total of 30 Northampton and Wellingborough Sea Cadets took place in the rowing regatta in Kettering.

The Sea Cadets competed against the other units in the district - Loughborough, Leicester, Hinckley, Market Harborough and Kettering.

The Northampton and Wellingborough unit won trophies in the categories for open boys rowing, open girls rowing, junior girls rowing, junior sea cadets rowing, junior yole (slide seat sculling) and open yole.
