East Midlands business bosses can find out how social media can help their company grow and expand.

Northamptonshire recruitment firm Macildowie is joining forces with Loughborough University to offer companies in the town the chance to find out how using LinkedIn can generate sales leads, revenue growth and therefore profits.

The ‘How to use LinkedIn Commercially’ breakfast event will be held at The Thistle Hotel, East Midlands Airport, on Friday, July 12.

Director of Macildowie James Taylor will be leading the presentation giving an insight into how to utilise social media technology to expand you network of contacts for the good of their business.

Mr Taylor said: “I would challenge anyone to find me a company owner who isn’t interested in using a free service which has the ability to drive top line sales.

“Professional networking websites, such as LinkedIn, can open up a wealth of business contacts that would not necessarily be approachable, or contactable, under normal circumstances.

“These contacts can be utilised in a number of ways to improve your business and make you more money, from expanding supply chains to recruiting new staff, a business can be developed from a wider pool of talent through a solid social media strategy.”

Loughborough University business development manager at Catherine Allford said: “This is one of a series of support events that Loughborough University is running as part of its on-going commitment to work with smaller, regional companies.

“Most companies are well aware that they could be using social media to help drive sales, although few realise the full extent of the impact that these resources can have.

“This workshop will provide business owners with the practical, hands-on advice they need to maximise on-line presence and improve their bottom line.”
