Recruitment agency Macildowie is celebrating a record year after creating 15 new positions and placing thousands of individuals in new jobs across the region.

Following a period of economic growth in the region, the job market has showed strong signs of recovery.

Macildowie, which has an office in Northampton, has registered and filled a record number of vacancies in recent months across its specialist disciplines, including HR, sales and marketing, finance and procurement and supply chain.

As a result of such a successful year, Macildowie has grown internally with 15 new starters and four key promotions.

Kate Sadler, having worked at Macildowie for two years, has been promoted to board level in her new position as finance director.

Alex Alcock, manager of the Nottingham office, has moved up to associate director of finance, while Ryan Jaiswal and Darius Matusiak have been promoted to regional managers.

Chief executive of Macildowie James Calder said: “This has been a fantastic year for the whole team at Macildowie.

“We have helped over 1,500 people find new jobs in the past 12 months across Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and Northampton.

“The company has significantly increased its market share and our team has expanded to handle the growth.

“The staff we have working across the East Midlands are fantastic, they are all at the top of their game and have helped to build a great business.

“So much so, that earlier this year we finished fifth in the 2014 Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to work for.”

In Northampton, the team had its best ever quarter at the end of the year and placed hundreds of people in jobs over 12 months in companies such as Barclaycard, Travis Perkins and Avon Cosmetics.

Director James Taylor said: “The job market in Northampton has really picked up over the last year, and we have been perfectly placed to fill these positions.

“As a team we are looking forward to what will no doubt be a successful year for job seekers, Northampton businesses and Macildowie.”
