Unemployment in the north of the county has fallen to its lowest level for three months, the Office of National Statistics has revealed.
A total of 8,331 people in Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough and East Northants claimed jobseeker’s allowance (JSA) in April 2013, a fall of 108 since March.
The JSA claimant rate has fallen to 3.9 per cent in Kettering and 5.3 per cent in Corby, with the rates in Wellingborough (4.7 per cent) and East Northants (2.8 per cent) unchanged since last month.
Meanwhile, the rate for England, Wales and Scotland as a whole stood at 3.7 per cent. The East Midlands fared slightly better with a rate of 3.6 per cent.
