A firm in Rushden has pledged to pay all its staff a living wage.
Ecophy Cleaning Services has been accredited as a living wage employer by the Living Wage Foundation and will pay its employees a minimum hourly rate of £7.65. The national minimum wage is £6.31 an hour.
Director Suzanna Austin said: “It may make a tiny difference on its own but to an individual it is a big deal, it’s this that counts at the end of the day, not the plaque, the people.”
Living Wage Foundation director, Rhys Moore, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ecophy Cleaning Services Ltd to the Living Wage movement as an accredited employer.
“The best employers are voluntarily signing up to pay the Living Wage now.”
