Having celebrated the hotel’s fifth birthday in June, the Holiday Inn Express Kettering has had something else to celebrate this year.
It has been awarded IHG Rewards Club Platinum Status, which recognises that the hotel consistently performs at a high standard and is committed to optimising guests’ experiences.
The platinum status itself is awarded to the in-house Loyalty Champion, Richard Heaton, who has embraced this position and excelled to a level that now finds him advising other champions all over Europe.
IHG operates over a variety of hotel brands including Holiday Inn Express, Intercontinental, Holiday Inn, Crown Plaza and Indigo hotels.
Richard has the honour of being just one of 14 awarded the Platinum status which was embraced by the hotel owners and general manager, Marie Nickerson, who provided the hotel staff and guests with a day of celebration.
The Reward Club mascot Master Mango formed the theme for the day which took part at the hotel on Friday, August 1.
Guests were invited to play a game of ‘find the mango’ which could then be redeemed for a free drink at the bar.
The hotel was decorated in a Hawaiian decor, lunch and refreshments were provided for all the staff, a prize raffle which included vouchers, afternoon tea and a Kindle Fire was held and of course Master Mango himself made an appearance.
Richard said: “Although the platinum status is given to me, it relies on the performance of the staff and the support of hotel management, so it really is a team effort.”
Getting to platinum level requires the champion to encourage and support staff and guests in the knowledge of IHG reward club, enrolling new members into the club, engaging in training workshops and recognising member needs when visiting the hotel.
