Artisan distillers in the county are in no need of a tonic as their aromatic dry gin enjoys success after success.

Warner Edwards, of Harrington, near Kettering, was only launched in December last year and is already winning widespread acclaim.

Harrington Dry Gin is on sale at the Piccadilly purveyors of fine foods and beverages Fortnum and Mason in London, and at the The Savoy Hotel in the capital.

It has just won a silver award in the San Francisco International Spirits Competition and last weekend the distillery and its founders, Tom Warner and Sion Edwards, were featured on BBC1’s Countryfile programme.

Mr Edwards said: “Our gin is now available in London, Oxford, Cambridge, Banbury, Chester, Manchester, Leeds, Shrewsbury and Colchester, not to mention all the local places.

“The San Francisco competition is respected around the world, with many brands and distillers entering.

“For a company which is only five months old to receive a silver award is amazing.”

Warner Edwards operates from Falls Farm in Harrington, distilling its spring water and hand-filling and finishing every bottle of gin .
