Global leaders in energy efficient lighting innovations, Technical Consumer Products (TCP), has chosen Corby as its new European headquarters.
The company manufactures 1.5m energy-saving compact fluorescent lamps every day, distributing its products across five continents and exclusively suppling Homebase in the UK.
TCP, which has its global headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, and employs more than 10,000 people around the world, is moving into premises in Exchange Court, Cottingham Road, Corby, and will employ a workforce of 40 when it is at full capacity.
Leader of Corby Council, Cllr Tom Beattie, said: “In the current climate it is very encouraging to see companies such as TCP choose Corby as the place to expand their business. Bringing skills and jobs in to the borough is a major priority for Corby and a vital part of our long-term ambitions.
“We would like to welcome TCP and wish the company a long and successful life in Corby.’The new headquarters will provide the vital link to their office in France and to the global market place and they have now begun recruiting for the first nine new posts.”
Chief executive of TCP’s European division, Thomas Luecke, said: “We are very pleased to be setting up our new headquarters in Corby. The great links to road and rail for both logistics and client visits, coupled with the massive regeneration programme that the borough has undertaken, made it the ideal place to choose.
“We are in the recruiting process in preparation for the official opening early next year and look forward to having a total of around 40 employees when at full capacity.”
