Holiday Inn Express in Kettering has celebrated its fifth birthday.

General manager Marie Nickerson spent the day wearing her party hat and provided the staff and customers with cupcakes to celebrate the day.

She posted on Facebook: “Wow! We are five today! Massive thank you to all our customers and staff past and present for getting us where we are today! Have a great day!”

Guests service assistant Richard Heaton said: “I was lucky enough to be nominated as InterContinental Hotels Group Reward Club champion at the hotel, and we are in the running to be awarded a Platinum status in IHG Rewards Club service, becoming one of 40 hotels granted this status throughout the UK.

“It is a great honour to be part of such a fantastic team and I am grateful for all the opportunities giving to me working at the hotel.”

The 120-bedroom hotel, in Rockingham Road, today holds a healthy regular customer base both locally and nationally and is awaiting confirmation of holding a Platinum IHG Rewards status.
