A prestige car dealership which opened just over a year ago is taking on more staff and selling to customers all around the world.
Chariots Specialist Cars opened in Holdenby Venture Park, Kettering, in January 2012, and managing director Franco Santoro promised to double the workforce from 10 to 20 as soon as possible.
He has kept his word, employing people from the town and surrounding area.
The dealership also uses local suppliers and tradesmen whenever possible to create even more business in the Kettering community.
Mr Santoro, who has lived in Kettering all his life, said: “I made a promise in 2012 that I would double the staff and thankfully kept this promise.
“I have employed local people in the community.”
The newest member of staff is Lisa Fox, who joined the firm on February 11 as an accounts and administration assistant.
She said: “I am the latest member to join the Chariots team. It’s nice to know that a local business is doing well and continues to grow, especially in this current economic climate, and is providing local people like myself with job opportunities.”
Mr Santoro worked in the same building for 10 years when it was Peter Harris Mercedes-Benz as did the finance manager Mike Cantillion and three of the technicians.
The building is still owned by Peter Harris, who is now a partner in the business along with Andrew Hulcoop and Franco.
Peter Harris’ son Nick also works there as a salesman.
Mr Santoro said: “As you can imagine there is a lot of history and memories in the building. There is a real family feel to the business and a real team spirit. It’s been nice to welcome back old Mercedes-Benz customers who remember us the first time round.”
Chariots Cars sells all makes and models of prestige cars as well as classic cars and bikes.
