Apprentices and their employers have been recognised at an awards ceremony.

The achievements of apprentices and their employers from across Northamptonshire were celebrated at Evolve Business Training’s inaugural Apprentice of the Year awards held in Corby earlier this month

Nineteen trophies were handed out by Tracy Cosgrave, operations director of Evolve Business Training, which is part of Tresham College, including individual prizes for Level 2 and Level 3 apprentices and two employers of the year.

Big winners on the night were Level 2 hairdressing apprentice Lewis Chambers, of Kettering, and Level 3 rail engineering apprentice Ryan Harper, of Rushden, who won the outstanding apprentice of the year awards.

Recognising commitment, attendance, achievement and progression, trophies were also awarded to learners from construction, motor vehicle and engineering, business and administration, IT and digital media, hospitality and catering, and healthcare and early years sectors.

Also rewarded on the night were Hewitt Decorators and Maziak Compressor Services Ltd, small employer and medium employers of the year respectively, which were praised for their commitment to training and development.

Tracy Cosgrave said: “The event celebrated the fantastic achievements made by our apprentices.

“We would like to thank the representative companies for their continued commitment to increase training opportunities for young people and adults in the area.

“We would also like to offer our congratulations to all the apprentices who have achieved their qualification. In the past two years we have had the pleasure of seeing many excellent ambassadors for the college and apprentices, taking their next step into a career that some had thought impossible.

“All of the winners should be very proud of what they have accomplished.

“I wish them, together with all of the apprentices training with Evolve and Tresham, all the best for their future careers.”

Tresham’s Evolve Business Training division works with employers across the Midlands to provide professional qualifications.
