One of last year’s winners of a Northamptonshire Business Excellence Award is urging other people to enter this year.

Clare Crampton won the New Business of the Year Award and said winning gave her company, Perfectly Sew, a real boost.

Clare, who makes bespoke hand-stitched curtains and blinds and soft furnishings as well as doing re-upholstery, has since linked up with Adrian Wittering at Wittering West in Kettering, and they send each other business leads.

She said: “I read about the awards and decided to enter and I’m glad I did.

“Winning the New Business of the Year Award was a great reward for all the hard work I’d put in setting up Perfectly Sew.

“Winning created a lot of recognition and credibility for me from other businesses andgenerally raised awareness of Perfectly Sew.

“It also lead to things such as the partnership with Wittering West.

“I’d urge other businesses to enter. The awards ceremony itslef is a great evening as well.”

The awards have ben running for 23 years and are the highlight of the county’s business calendar.

Run by Northamptonshire Newspapers Ltd in conjunction with Northamptonshire Chamber and in partnership with Carlsberg UK, the awards showcase successful companies and the individuals who work in them.

There are 10 categories and the awards are free to enter. They are open to all businesses in Northamptonshire.

This year the Northamptonshire Telegraph and the Chronicle & Echo are giving the winners more than £7,000 of advertising as part of the prize package.

The winners will be revealed at a ceremony on Thursday, December 12, at the Daventry Court Hotel and will be presented with a crystal trophy and certificate by Nitin Ganatra, better known as Masood in EastEnders.
