A sales leader from Wellingborough has defied the economic downturn to report a successful year in business.
Louise Carter, from Wellingborough, is an Avon senior executive sales leader with more than 500 representatives in her team and an annual turnover of more than £1m.
She’s had a 50 per cent growth in the number of team members and a 60 per cent growth in sales compared to this time last year.
She said: “Over the past couple of campaigns, my business has gone from strength to strength with my teams growing and securing more representatives than ever before.”
Professor Julie Logan, from the Cass Business School, praised her success.
She said: “The recession has seen many businesses struggle and people have been left with pay cuts and unstable working environments.
“Entrepreneurship gives people power over their career future and offers a route to create profitable business ventures that employ other people, thus having a very positive impact on the UK economy.”
Avon, which has offices inCorby and Northampton, is the UK’s largest direct selling firm.
