A coffee shop owner got the shock of her life as a customer from Australia walked in – having become a fan of the shop on Facebook.
Lisa Albert, who lives in Melbourne, stumbled across the Coffee at No. 9’s page.
And after “liking” some of the photos of the shop’s cupcakes, she left a message promising to visit when she came to visit the UK.
The Mawsley coffee shop’s proprietor, Heather Jones, said she extended a warm welcome to her admirer from Down Under, but never expected to meet her.
“I was very touched (by Lisa’s comments) but to be honest I didn’t think it was going to happen,” said Heather, who initially thought Lisa was connected to family Heather has living in Australia.
“Lisa walked through the door and said ‘I am that lady that emailed you’.
“I was very excited by it and I told all my family and friends. I go home and talk about customers so it was a nice change to get that.
“I truly didn’t think that they would come in.”
“I do love my coffee and have got a sweet tooth,” said Lisa, 46. “I would go round showing my friends, saying ‘Look at these cupcakes, they look amazing’.”
But she insisted: “I am not here to make a fuss.”
