Buses to run between KGH and town centre during Rothwell Road closure

Regular shuttle buses are to run between KGH and the town centre during a five-day road closure, it has been confirmed.

Rothwell Road will close from Monday (October 24) to Friday for essential work to repair manhole covers.

Access to KGH will remain as usual if travelling from the west via Warren Hill, but access to the hospital from the east will be affected.

Pedestrians will still be able to access the hospital from the east side of the road as normal under the bridge.

But for those coming from the east by road, there will be delays and diversions - so a shuttle bus will be put on by Stagecoach Midlands between the town centre and the hospital.

The bus will run every 30 minutes from 5.15am to 11.15pm.

Other routes will be diverted as follows:

Route 19 (Corby, Rushton, Desborough, Rothwell, Kettering, Ise Lodge) - will divert via the A43 Northern Bypass & Rockingham Rd.

Route X1 (Corby, Kettering, Barton Seagrave, Burton Latimer, Wellingborough) - will divert via Rockingham Rd, Northfield Ave to resume normal route from Lower St (passengers who choose to walk to the hospital can get on/off by Prospect House Surgery).

X10 between Market Harborough & Kettering will run via A43 Northern Bypass and Rockingham Rd.

A spokesman for KGH advised anyone visiting the hospital to allow extra time for their journey.
