Bus stop toilets will cost £22k to maintain

A new toilet for National Express coach passengers in Northampton will be ready for use by the end of January, a spokesman for Northampton Council said.

Papers discussed at a budget cabinet showed the toilet will cost an estimated £22,000 a year to maintain.

A spokeswoman forthe borough council said: “We want to provide better facilities for coach passengers in Victoria Street and have already installed new shelters for people waiting, which are nearly complete.

“A new toilet is being installed and this will be ready for use by the end of January.”
