A Burton Latimer woman has helped to raise £2,500 for two cancer charities by dancing for six hours straight.

Nikki Craddock was one of 20 participants of all ages to take part in the ‘danceathon’ at Britannia Working Men’s Club on January 30.

She said: “The event was a huge success with 20 participants of all ages moving and shaking for the full six hours.

“The total raised so far is £2,500 for Stand Up To Cancer and Cancer Research UK, with money still coming in.

“The event would not have happened if it weren’t for the support of so many local business giving us their time, support and generosity.

“There are lots to thank including the Britannia Working Mens Club and all the staff, Pic ‘n’ Mix Discos, the guest instructors, Hungry Harry’s for providing us with food, Good Times in Corby for balloons, Brackley Photographic for taking pictures and lots more local businesses for donating raffle prizes.

“I’m so pleased with the amount that we raised that we are already planning a similar event for next year raising money for a local charity.”
