A Burton Latimer man says he is “gutted” after thieves stole a motorbike worth around £10,000 from his garage.

Steve Bowyer, who lives in Church View, had his 65-plate BMW R9T Sport bike stolen from his home at some point between 8pm on July 15 and 7am on July 17.

He says he is devastated - but he wants to help others with bikes prevent the same from happening to them.

He said: “The lock was on and the alarm was set but they smashed it.

“They must have moved it with limited noise. I’m absolutely gutted.

“I saw an article about a bike theft in this week’s Northants Telegraph and I want to get the word out to stop others being a victim.

“If anyone wants to speak about it they can call me on 07812 790164.”

A police spokesman confirmed they were looking into the incident.

The spokesman said: “If anyone has seen the bike or is offered one like this we would love to hear from them on 101.”
