Police are hunting for two males linked to an arson attack in Burton Latimer.

Bales of hay were set on fire in Higham Road in the town, causing permanent damage to the crop between 6.45pm and 7pm on Friday, August 17.

The offenders are described as two males, ages unknown, one of which was wearing a checked shirt.

PC James Condon said: “Setting fire to bales of hay or straw is arson, which is a serious offence.

“Fire can easily spread causing financial loss, damage to wildlife and property and can put people’s lives at risk.

“Whilst this particular fire, luckily, did not spread far it still caused considerable damage to the crop.”
