Builder wins local apprentice award

A young builder has been named a top local apprentice in a scheme run by a housebuilding giant.

Jack Davey, of Kettering, scooped Barratt Homes’ Apprentice of the Year prize for the county for the second year in a row.

The 20-year-old said: “I’m delighted to have won Apprentice of the Year for the second time – I really enjoyed doing my apprenticeship. I was given lots of support from my site manager and learned an incredible amount working out on site.”

Jack, who has been working in Northampton, said his goal was to become a site manager.
