A new monthly poetry workshop for budding bards is being launched at Danesholme Library.

The free sessions are called Poet’s Corner and will run on the second Sunday of every month from 2.00 until 3.30pm.

The first is being held this Sunday (February 8) and will feature Corby poet Michael Pike, who publishes his work under the name Spike.

Matt Reay, who is co-ordinating the sessions, said: “It’s ideal for budding poets or those who enjoy writing poetry and want to share ideas with like-minded people.

“It’s all about getting people to unleash their inner Byron.

“The event is free and if anyone has any inquiries they can contact Danesholme Library by phoning 0300 126 1000 and asking to be put through to Danesholme Library, or they can e-mail the library with inquiries at danelib@northamptonshire.gov.uk.
