Girls from the Brownies slept over at the Newlands Shopping Centre in Kettering as part of an extra-special Stay Away adventure to mark the organisation’s centenary last weekend.

Brownies from the Kettering division were among dozens of girls, all of whom were aged between seven and 10, who took part in the sleepover on Saturday, June 21. It was held to celebrate The Big Brownie Birthday – which saw Girlguiding members from all over the UK joining celebrations to mark the anniversary.

Kettering mayor Cllr Duncan Bain and his wife and mayoress Carole (pictured), helped cut the birthday cake and also read the Brownies a bedtime story.
