A broken down vehicle on the A14 near Kettering caused major delays this afternoon (Thursday, January 16).

Motorists on the stretch of road, who have been experiencing delays due to ongoing work to widen the carriageways, were forced to queue eastbound near junction nine for Wellingborough.

A police spokesman confirmed the force had been called out to help manage traffic while the broken down vehicle was recovered.

Police received the call at 11.42am, with delays continuing for some time afterwards.
