Boy airlifted to hospital after tree fall

A boy was airlifted to hospital after falling from a tree in Corby last week.

The 11-year-old was taken to the University Hospital in Coventry by air ambulance on Friday, April 19, after the fall.

Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance was called to the incident at about 5.45pm and set about treating the youngster, who had suffered a broken leg.

The air ambulance paramedic and doctor administered advanced pain relief and sedated the boy in order to splint his injured leg. He was then flown to hospital for further treatment.
