FORMER world champion boxer Marco Antonio Barrera will make his first UK public appearance in Wellingborough on Monday.
The retired Mexican sporting star will be at the Sportsframe Gallery, in Nene Court, from 1pm to 3pm, where he will be showing off his WBC and IBF belts.
James Wright from Sportsframe said: “Marco Antonio Barrera is a retired Mexican professional boxer who has won numerous world titles in three different weight classes. He is a former two-time WBO Super Bantamweight, WBC, Lineal, and The Ring Featherweight and WBC and IBF Super Featherweight champion. Barrera also ranks at number 43 on ESPN’s 50 Greatest Boxers Of All Time.
“He is most noted for his trilogy of fights against Erik Morales as well as beating Britain’s own Prince Naseem Hamed, and he fought pound for pound best fighter Manny Pacquiao on two occasions.”
